New materials with improved structural and functional properties play an essential role in transforming the world we live in today. To monitor the microstructure of materials and the damage development within, we develop, optimize and apply several nondestructive and advanced monitoring techniques: acoustic emission, real-time radiography, industrial computed tomography, percolation sensors, eddy currents, thermography, ultrasound, optical fibre sensors, etc.
