About New England State and Local Tax Forum

The New England State and Local Tax Forum is a non-profit organization that was formed in 2012 by a number of SALT professionals in New England to promote, encourage, assist and foster education in the area of state and local taxation and tax policy. The Forum was founded by Stan Arnold, former Commissioner of the New Hampshire Department of Revenue Administration for 14 years. The Forum's primary function is to promote its annual conference, which provides an annual update on significant state and local tax developments from across the nation with a particular focus on New England. Designed for SALT professionals from industry, private practice and the public sector, the Forum addresses both technical and policy issues to help practitioners comply with changes in the law as well as anticipate evolving issues that will impact the SALT field for years to come. In addition, the Forum has established the Stanley R. Arnold Scholarship Fund, which provides an annual award to qualifying students engaged and interested in the SALT field. The Forum's conference is currently held in Newton, Massachusetts.
