NEcOLEAP

NEcOLEAP is a pioneering research and development project led by Meyer Turku. With a focus on innovative and sustainable technology solutions, NEcOLEAP's main goals are to develop a climate-neutral cruise ship concept by 2025, and to achieve carbon-neutral shipbuilding by 2030. Supported by Business Finland and in collaboration with over 100 Finnish ecosystem partners – including companies, universities, and research institutes – NEcOLEAP aims to secure the future competitiveness of the Finnish shipbuilding industry. The R&D topics focus on four key areas: the ship itself, shipbuilding, smart technologies, and future drivers. The cost estimate of the project is approximately EUR 160 million.
