Negev Development Authority

The Negev Development Authority (NDA) was established in 1991, according to the Negev Development Authority Law. The Authority was established in order to support the development of the Negev in various fields, including its role in initiating and encouraging the preparation of a strategic plan for the development of the Negev, encouraging economic development in the Negev, and coordinating government ministries, municipalities and other organizations involved in the development of the Negev. The Negev Development Authority lead projects and oversee state-funded projects. Moreover, the authority initiated and supports a couple of Negev-wide forums: the Negev Tourism Forum, which provides a marketing umbrella for tourism activities in the Negev, and the Negev Forum for Demographic Growth and Settlement. הרשות לפיתוח הנגב הוקמה בשנת 1991, עפ"י חוק הרשות לפיתוח הנגב. הרשות הוקמה על מנת לתמוך ולעסוק בפיתוח הנגב בתחומים השונים בין תפקידיה ליזום ולעודד הכנת תוכנית לפיתוח הנגב, לעודד פיתוח כלכלי בנגב, לתאם בין משרדי הממשלה, הרשויות והגופים העוסקים בפיתוח הנגב, לספק מידע וליזום מחקרים בנושאים כלכליים וחברתיים בנגב. הרשות לפיתוח הנגב פועלת לקידום פרויקטים בתמיכתה ולקידום פרויקטים בתקציב מדינה בפיקוחה.כמו כן פועלים ברשות שני פורומים האחד, "פורום תיירות בנגב" אשר נותן "מטריה שיווקית" לפעילות תיירותית בנגב, ו"פורום לצמיחה דמוגרפית והתיישבות" המאחד תחתיו כל נצידי ההתיישבות ברשויות השונות בנגב.
