Neil’s Controlled Blasting is located in Newcastle, CA, and has been a leader in thedrilling and blasting business since 1982. Our current fleet of 17 drills and 6 licensed blasters allows us to comfortably handle multiple projects at a time. Our slope stabilization division is set up to handle many types of projects such as tunnel work, shoring, rockfall draperies/barriers, rock bolting, tieback, soil nail, and shotcrete installations. Our core team of rope certified/qualified scalers, blasters, and drillers are equipped to handle many types of high angle projects. Sample NCB projects include tunnel work, difficult access drilling, close in blasting to critical structures, sinking vertical shafts, structure excavations near dams and powerhouses, high angle rope access work, rockfall mitigation, slope stabilization, crane and helicopter access/placements. NCB has successfully completed many challenging projects working in cooperation with an assortment of private, public and governmental agencies. Our NCB slope stabilization team consists of qualified personnel with many years of combined experience. This knowledge base allows our team to effectively spot and safely address potentially dangerous or damaging geologic slope situations. Our team is constantly monitoring and upgrading equipment and techniques in this field to ensure the safety of working crews and the public. NCB’s current on-call emergency and contract work clients include PG&E, Union Pacific Rail Road, Federal Highway Administration, California DOT, Nevada DOT, Placer County Water Agency, Nevada Irrigation District, and El Dorado Irrigation District. We have also
completed many successful projects and maintain working relationships with the US Bureau of Reclamation, US Army Corp. of Engineers, South Feather Power and Water, Utica Power Authority, Southern Cal. Edison, US Western Water Administration, US Forest Service, California DWR, and Burlington Northern Santa Fe Rail Road.
