Nekeas

Nekeas fue fundada en 1989, cuando ocho familias de Añorbe decidieron renovar la tradición vinícola en Navarra y comenzaron un proyecto que incluyó la siembra de 234 hectáreas de viñedos y la construcción de una bodega para convertir sus propias uvas en vino. Nekeas ahora está produciendo vinos de calidad en los que se mezclan las costumbres tradicionales y las técnicas de vinificación más modernas. Posteriormente, decidieron plantar 206 hectáreas de olivos, por lo que producimos y elaboramos aceite virgen extra de la máxima calidad, tanto en la variedad Arbequina como Arróniz. Las viñas y olivares de Nekeas se encuentran en el valle de Valdizarbe, el distrito vitícola más septentrional de Navarra. Esta región está situada en las estribaciones de los Pirineos, una media hora al sur de Pamplona y una hora al sur del océano Atlántico. The Nekeas winery is located in the town of Añorbe, in the Valley of Valdizarbe, which sits on the foothills of the Pyrenees mountains. This is the most northern region of the D.O. Navarra. The winery owns 578 acres (234 Ha.) of vineyards and 509 (206 Ha.) of olive tree plots. Most of the vineyards were planted between 1989 and 1997, with the exception of El Chaparral vineyards (red Grenache), planted between 1890 and 1930. Although the winery has evolved in the three decades since its birth, the eight founding families: Lizarraga, Urricelqui, Sola, Lacunza, San Martin, Huarte, Erviti, and Echarte, remain committed to the care of the land and the tradition of wine making that was passed down from generation to generation. The original leader of the group, Francisco San Martin, is still the acting president; Manuel Urricelqui is the technical director, and Concha Vecino is the general manager and winemaker.
