My name is Lance Nelson, originally from Rockland, Idaho, a small town boasting a population of 500. My upbringing revolved around contributing to our family ranch and tending to the local cemetery. It was during my tenure at the cemetery that I developed a profound interest in the funeral industry. Witnessing funerals unfold there sparked a curiosity about the processes leading up to those moments. To explore this interest further, I engaged in a summer work program at a funeral home in Pocatello. This experience ignited a deep passion for serving in this field. Upon graduating from high school, I relocated to Florida to work at the Church of Jesus Christ Deseret Cattle and Citrus Ranch for a year before returning home to embark on a two-year mission in Louisville, Kentucky. Upon completion of my mission, I pursued studies at BYU-I while concurrently undertaking an internship at Eckersell Funeral Home in Rigby, ID. Subsequently, I enrolled at Mt. Hood Mortuary College in Portland, OR, culminating in graduation from mortuary school. My professional journey led me through various funeral homes across Oregon, Arizona, and Utah. During my tenure in Provo, I crossed paths with Tiffany Nelson (Martin) from Orem, whom I married. We are now proud parents to two children, Wyatt and Wes. My aspiration was to establish a new funeral home that offered a distinctive experience. After accumulating years of industry expertise and insights into effective practices, I founded Nelson Family Mortuary nearly five years ago, striving to provide unparalleled services. Our state-of-the-art facilities significantly enhance the positive experience for individuals in their times of need. We extend an invitation to visit our Provo location for a tour.
