NEMMCO was one of six energy market entities which were combined with the formation of the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) in 2009. The company NEMMCO is no longer operational. AEMO plays an integral role within the energy sector, operating the energy markets and systems and delivering planning advice in eastern and south-eastern Australia.
