NEMOG - Research Center of Oil and Gas Flow and Measurement

The Research Center of Oil and Gas Flow and Measurement (NEMOG, in portuguese) is a research laboratory within the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES). NEMOG is dedicated to research and development (R&D) projects, aiming to integrate scientific knowledge with the challenges faced by industry. The main activities of NEMOG include promoting reference flows of oil, water, and gas (single-phase or multiphase) for various purposes, such as: - Studies of the dynamics of single-phase and multiphase flows involving oil, water, and gas through experiments. - Evaluation of industrial instrumentation (flow meters and level meters, for instance) under controlled laboratory conditions. - Assessment of standards, regulations, and operational procedures. - Evaluation of equipments and softwares used in industry. - Development of methodologies for failure detection. - Numerical simulation. - Evaluation of uncertainty from experimental data and numerical simulations. - Production and characterization of emulsions with high stability periods. - Data analysis and machine learning.
