The NEMOS project aims to define a new educational model to integrate sustainability competences in the curricula of food-related degrees through service learning.
In particular, NEMOS sets four main objectives: 1) Establishing a food sustainability profile (FSP) for students through a community building methodology; 2) Creating a methodological handbook (MH) in Food sustainability through service learning; 3) Developing assessment tools of the FSP and MH by co-creation practices in service learning; 4) Defining a new educational model, complete with students´ toolkit and educational practices patterns, suitable for the acquisition of sustainability competences through green pedagogies and service learning.
Ultimately, the NEMOS project aims to actively contribute to the achievement of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals 2 (“end hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture and farming”) and 12 (“responsible production and consumption”) by raising awareness of sustainability issues among the project’s main target groups (students, teachers and HEIs in general, stakeholders in the concerned communities).
NEMOS is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
