Formulated as a consortium of seven national level commercial banks, with aim to pool the resources of these banks together and establish a common platform, which will be more secure, reliable and able to encompass the rapid growth of new technologies in electronic payments. NePS was established to provide its customers with the ready made solution of Issuance of Cards, Acquiring transactions through different delivery channels, connectivity to different payment associations in the country and international payment organization and along with it all the related settlement, operational and security aspects on the same. NePS also ensures its facility is complied with the highest security standard as required by the card data processing company and maintains a complete redundant system to ensure the highest level of up time. NePS further sees itself promoting the development of secure and instantaneous Interbank transactions, e-commerce, remittance and branchless banking in Nepal. Currently NePS has 15 institutions as its shareholder consisting of commercial banks and development banks NePS is at the moment providing processing services to 9 commercial banks and 4 development banks and is working to bring rest of the member banks into its service.
