Netopia, Inc. develops, markets and supports broadband equipment, software and services that simplify and enhance the delivery of broadband services to residential and enterprise-class customers. Netopia's offerings enable carriers and broadband service providers to improve their profitability with feature rich routers and gateways, software that manages to the edge of the network to reduce costs, and value added services to enhance revenue generation. These bundled service offerings often include DSL or broadband cable service bundled with backup, bonding, VPN, firewall protection, parental control, integrated voice and data, and eSite and eStore hosting. Netopia also provided consumer and enterprise software: Timbuktu, eCare, netOctopus, and NxG. Netopia was bought by Motorola. the deal closed on February 7th, 2007
