Conducting research on next generation, adaptive, and resilient networks. In addition, we operate an experimental research laboratory comprising a fully virtualised networked infrastructure, programmable at all hardware (e.g. NetFPGA boards, Netronome SmartNICs, Barefoot P4 Switches) and software (OpenFlow Controllers, process and compute servers, SBC models, etc.) layers of the network stack. The laboratory provides a controlled experimental environment over which Software-Defined Networking (SDN), Network Function Virtualisation (NFV), and virtualised service orchestration components can be developed and evaluated under controlled operational conditions.
