Neuroplay supports cognitive capability retention and development of people aged 65+ by engaging them in training sessions involving an efficacy-proven, EEG-biofeedback method, available without leaving their home and with no trained technician required to participate in training sessions. By 2050, in Europe alone, the number of people aged 65+ is expected to double. The global senior care market has grown by 8% since 2018, reaching a total valuation of $300 billion in 2020. “Wearables” for seniors are growing in popularity and solutions equipped with biometric sensors and IoT integration are the next step in improving lives of the elderly. 60% of people aged 65+ exhibit some form of cognitive impairment. To meet the needs of the market, Neuroplay launched a research and development project under co-financing from the National Center for Research and Development (in the amount of € 1.3M with own contribution of € 0.2M) together with partners: the Nicolaus Copernicus University and the Casimir the Great University in Bydgoszcz, within the field of clinical trials; The Institute of Medical Equipment and ITAM as part of a hardware development project geared at manufacturing the medical device (headband) and the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice in order to design & develop ergonomics and usability of the solution. The Neuroplay team is responsible for project coordination, creating a web platform along with cognitive training scenarios and for the business side of the project.
