Published as Macau CSR from 1 January to 31 December 2023, the brand name changed to New Macau from 1 January 2024. The Macau government is driving economic diversification, with major tourism enterprises investing significantly in this goal. The "tourism+" or "1+4" strategy focuses on tourism and four new economic areas: Big Health, New Tech, Modern Finance, and Sports, Arts, and Culture. Additionally, 11 alternative economic activities were proposed during the 2022 re-tendering process. New Macau aligns with this strategy, emphasizing economic diversification and social responsibility. Our focus areas include Arts and Culture, Big Health, Community Tourism, Entertainment, Environment, Equal Opportunity, Gastronomy, International Tourism, Maritime Tourism, MICE, Modern Finance, New Tech, Patriotism, Philanthropy, Responsible Gaming, Skills Development, SME, Society, Sports, and Themed Amusements—all crucial for Macau’s future. New Macau aims to lead in raising awareness and closing the communications gap by providing the first dedicated, independent media channel focused on economic diversification initiatives.
