Newgate

Newgate was founded by Henry Field in 2010 with only a handful of mares on a 250 acre leased property. Having travelled around the world’s major racing and breeding jurisdictions and working for some of the world’s leading bloodstock operators, Henry set out with a vision of building Australia’s leading stallion operation. Today, Newgate is one of Australia’s powerhouse stallion operations and thoroughbred nurseries. In 2023, Newgate is home to 14 stallions including Australia’s most elite stallion statistically, Extreme Choice who stands at a stud fee of $275,000. Newgate is also home to Australia’s Champion First Season Sires of the past two seasons: Capitalist and Russian Revolution. The growth of Newgate has continued exponentially over the last decade and is built on the foundations of both the integrity of its people and the quality of its stallions and bloodstock.
