Newlands School

Newlands is aday and boarding school for boys and girls from 0 to 18 years. We specialise in 'Creative Education' and we place great emphasis on independent thought, the development of research skills and innovation in all subjects. The use of digital technology has been integrated throughout the curriculum and each student has been given their own iPad for research, experimentation and creation. Newlands has a continuous history stretching back to its foundation in 1814 and it was one of the Founder Members of the IAPS. In 2009, Newlands became part of the Beaconhouse group of schools. This innovative, internationally based educational group has a network of Independent Schools in nine countries with more than 227,000 full time students. Newlands has opened 'sister schools' in Malasia and Pakistan and it shares cultural links and educational practice with these and the wider Beaconhouse network, including its university. Newlands is renowned for its warm, family atmosphere and it has been highly praised in each of its last three ISI inspections for its excellent pastoral care. We have the highest expectations of our students and we are small enough to offer individualised education in very small teaching groups. An unusually high proportion of parents who visit us go on to choose Newlands for their son's or daughter's education.
