Newwwie started as an off-topic conversation for a bunch of programmers working out of shared workspaces in Newcastle and eventually grew to a Slack community with over 1,300 members. It's the proud catalyst and supporter for a range of in-person events too, including the /NEW Conference, Coders Meetup, Newcastle Cyber Security Group, Hunter Data Analytics and Women & Gender Diverse People in Tech. Newwwie at its core is a place to blow off steam, rant about whatever technology we are currently wrestling, share interesting stuff and help break out of day-to-day traps of working online.
