The world circularity gap is currently estimated to be just under 9%. At our current rate of consumption of plastics especially, it is estimated that there will be more plastics in oceans than fish by 2050. As population growth continues, the demand for natural resources will increase further reducing the regenerative capacity of the earth. We need to decouple economic growth from environmental degradation by deploying a set of holistic tools that leverages innovation and technology to transform Africa especially where rapid growth is forecasted. At NEXMATICS, we leverage innovation through strategic digital projects to accelerate the proliferation of the circular economy. We believe that the circular economy offers an opportunity to re-imagine our consumption patterns, with an objective of enabling sustainable choices to the masses. NEXMATICS will focus on material innovation, high-tech processing of materials and digital solutions to achieve its aim of accelerating Africa’s transition towards a circular economy.
