NEXUS CONSORTIUM

Nexus Consortium Somalia is a coalition of eight Somali NGOs—Center for Peace and Democracy (CPD), Gargaar Relief and Development Organization (GREDO), Horn of Africa Voluntary Youth Committee (HAVOYOCO), Kaalo Aid and Development Organization (KAALO), Somali Women’s Development Centre (SSWC), Social-Life and Agricultural Development Organization (SADO), Taakulo Somali Community (TASCO), and Wajir South Development Association (WASDA)—plus two international partners, Oxfam and Save the Children. Together, we bring over 25 years of collective experience in Somalia, addressing Protection, Development, Peacebuilding, Health, Environmental Conservation, Climate Action, Women’s Empowerment, Agriculture, Livelihoods, WaSH, and Poverty Reduction. Active across Puntland, Somaliland, Galmudug, Hirshabelle, South West State, and Jubaland, Nexus embodies Somalia’s rich cultural and regional diversity. By collaborating with communities and stakeholders, we deliver contextually relevant solutions tailored to the unique needs of diverse populations. Nexus is redefining civil society leadership by integrating humanitarian, development, and peacebuilding efforts. Our locally led approach empowers Somali organizations, government entities, and private sector partners to spearhead community-driven solutions. We break silos between sectors, creating essential spaces for local actors to lead and scale integrated interventions. Nexus represents a new paradigm in the Somali aid ecosystem—prioritizing local leadership as a central pillar for sustainable, impactful change. Together, we are driving a transformative shift toward locally owned, community-centered solutions for a resilient Somalia.
