About NG-MIMA

In the foreseeable future, a new generation of military aerial platforms demands advanced avionics supporting innovative architectures, enhanced functionalities, and heightened performance, safety, and cyber resilience. Operating through a system-of-systems approach, these platforms need increased data sharing and processing, alongside specific requirements for development cycles and defence-related missions. The specific objective of this proposal is to study, design and demonstrate, within a 36-months timeframe, key components for the next generation of modular avionics, including identification of needs related to next generation military integrated modular avionics, study and identification of new high level architecture principles, identification, study and proof of concept of key technologies, and design of NG-MIMA scalable reference architecture(s). NG-MIMA aims to revolutionize military avionics by bringing a new era of integrated modular avionics carefully tailored to address the distinctive and evolving requirements of military airborne platforms. Pioneering a novel European-scale design, the consortium emphasizes collaboration, harmonization, and integration with other initiatives. The resulting NG-MIMA architecture and technologies will pave the foundation for future actions such as a full demonstrator or even the seed of a future European standard. Led by INDRA, the well-balance consortium comprises 25 entities from 10 EU Member States. NG-MIMA is poised to significantly contribute to European sovereignty and nurturing a robust ecosystem for military integrated modular avionics in defence. Co-funded by the European Union.
