Nemzeti Gaming & Esport Sportági Szövetség (NGES) - Hungarian Gaming & Esport Sport federation

NGES was a sports federation aiming to become the sole Hungarian governing body of esports through regulating different games exclusively in Hungary. Operates in the pyramidal structure of traditional sports: it is composed of clubs as its members and member clubs have players. Has adopted and applies its own set of regulations i. a. concerning registration and transfer of players, competition rules, ethics code and child protection, integrity issues, anti-doping, data protection, rights’ exploitation. Legal support has been provided by Bird & Bird, the leading international law practice providing complex legal and business advice to various esports and sports stakeholders worldwide. Summarized, NGES’s goal is to provide a clear and straightforward legal structure so that esports stakeholders can see the benefits of becoming a member or player, as well as of establishing a business relationship with NGES. Lived 2017-2024, shutted down and merged with HUNESZ.
