No Gain, No Pain (NGNPUK) are a registered charity that fundraise for syringe drivers in local
communities.
Syringe drivers are small portable, computerised devices that administer pain relief in palliative care.
They can help patients remain comfortable at home with their loved ones instead of going into hospital or a hospice. Many areas share a small amount of these vital machines meaning patients may have to wait.
Our belief is that 60 seconds is a minute too long for anyone suffering in pain during palliative care.
We purchase new syringe drivers and donate them to the local District nursing teams for use in our communities.
Each machine costs £1110 and can help so many, patients and their families during its working lifetime, which averages at about 7 years.
What started in Whittlesey four years ago with the donation of a single machine has now grown into a registered charity helping the whole of Cambridgeshire.
There are now 91 new machines in use throughout Cambridgeshire, which are making a huge difference on a daily basis, however we need to continue to increase these numbers through fundraising.
We are contacted most weeks by families and patients (even some nursing staff) providing feedback
and thanks for the work of the charity.
