Drenova had a dramatic history, especially in the 20th century where it shared the fate of the City of Rijeka - changes in state, social systems, economic opportunities. At one point, setting the border, it was cut it "in half", breaking up communities and creating traumas whose effects are visible even today. But the passage of time slowly works its - there are fewer living witnesses. The development of modern society and globalization processes at high speed and curtail deleted historical memories present in small communities. Historical facts are easy to lose and younger generations have no perception of how was living, not before 200 or 1000, but not before 20 or 40 years. Old items and clothing are thrown away, disappearing customs and immigration of new population marginalized local dialect that is slowly disappearing from everyday use. We consider it our duty, while there are still living witnesses of past times, collect and record their memories and, as far as possible, to preserve the cultural heritage and identity Drenove. But in addition to history, the future is also important, therefore, in the premises of the Drenova Community Center, which our association manages, numerous educations are held dedicated to new technologies such as artificial intelligence or the development of the concept of citizen energy. We are currently implementing the LIFE Discover project, the goal of which is to establish yet another service for our citizens - a One Stop Shop for energy communities.
