Zona is a small NGO in Poreč (Croatia) dealing with social and environmental issues. We design & implement educational and awareness-raising projects and activities bringing together art, culture, and science. Our areas of interest include nature conservation with a focus on ocean conservation, social innovation, city making, community engagement, tools & methods for creativity and innovation.

POREČ LIVING STREETS (Sep 2020 - Dec 2021)
Increasing capacities of cities and networks in Greece, Croatia, and Portugal to engage citizens on energy and climate issues. Living Streets turns streets into social hubs and uses the space to bring citizens and local climate projects
together. Rated as the best project in the call for proposals. The first parklet in Croatia was realized.

EKO LAB - PULA (Mar 2019 - Dec 2020)
EKO LAB is a place for learning and experimentation with the aim of developing critical thinking, creativity, and innovation for high school students. Hands-on activities are carried out through the concrete example of the plastic waste problem. Students are learning about the lifecycle of plastic, recycling processes, and how to co-designing new products by using recycling machines and 3D printing technology. The program is realized through the cooperation of schools, NGOs, scientists, and the community - together creating conditions for a more sustainable and responsible future.

aMORE festival of the sea (Since May 2017)
(*amore=love in Italian, more = sea in Croatian - Istria is a bilingual region and the wordplay brings the love for the sea) aMORE is the first festival within the region that is entirely dedicated to seas and oceans bringing together art, culture, and science. aMORE is raising awareness about the environmental, social, and cultural importance of seas and oceans to give a more holistic perspective on this important natural resource.
