We are committed to producing contextually grounded, evidence-based knowledge that informs action and strengthens responses to complex social and political challenges. Operating with a community-centered approach, NHASI works closely with local actors, civil society, and development partners to co-produce solutions that are inclusive, responsive, and locally relevant. Our key areas of focus include security governance, gender and social inclusion, prevention of violent extremism (PVE), civic engagement, and state–society relations in fragile settings. NHASI provides strategic insights and technical support to national and international actors, drawing from field-based research and policy engagement. Our work spans both humanitarian and development sectors, with particular attention to elevating women’s voices, mitigating risks of radicalization, and translating research into actionable policy recommendations.
