NHS Estates and Facilities

The National Estates and Facilities team within NHS England oversees and supports the operations and development of the NHS estate. We ensure that local estates teams are supported so that patients can continue to be cared for in a clean, safe, and fit for purpose environment. Its responsibilities also include: • Promoting consistent high standards throughout the estate through setting national policy and strategy, and providing technical standards and guidance. • Driving greater social value and resilience through our approach to capital delivery and assurance. • Keeping sustainability and innovation at the heart of our work to deliver a Net Zero estate in line with the NHS’s targets. • Ensuring that the NHS estate and facilities are optimised to deliver world-class healthcare to the nation.
