Cannabis has sparked economic booms in California and across the country. But, like in all emergent industries before it, only a privileged few are positioned to navigate the early market turbulence and take advantage of new opportunities. The promises of access and shared prosperity are still alive, but it will take creative, collective action to challenge the conditions that keep them out of reach. This is why we’re building Nicer Co., a social impact company designed to strengthen the relationship between cannabis and community. We fight to tilt power back toward the people and communities who have been harmed by drug policies, and cut out of opportunities to benefit from their repeal. To make good on the promises of access and shared prosperity for these communities, we remove obstacles to their wellness, open new paths to their economic opportunity, and invest in addressing local-level social needs. We do this because we know cannabis can serve our communities instead of dividing them. Together with our equity owners and partners, Nicer Co. is taking power so we can take better care of each other.
