Newtown Improvement District (NID is a register non-profit organisation newly constituted in December 2018 at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) with the appointment of new Board of Directors (BOD) - 12 Members.
Subsequent Board Meeting made way for the voting and appointment of 3 new executives:
1. Chairman - Dr More Chakane
2. Deputy Chairman - Zinzile Seepie
3. Public Officer - Nicolaas Erasmus
The newly established BOD will be responsible for the formulation and implementation of Business Plan for Newtown in conjunction with Johannesburg Development Agency (JDA) to ensure growth and transformation of Newtown can take place addressing social, cultural, heritage and economic challenges.
The formulation and implementation of Business Plan will be done in conjunction with all partners in the Newtown district to ensure voluntary contributions is utilized for the improvement of Safety & Security within the district.
