The Firm was founded in November 1973 as Ibrahim, Tan & Abdullah. In 1975, Datuk Nik Hussain Bin Nik Ali joined the Firm and the Firm changed its name to Nik Hussain, Ibrahim, Tan & Abdullah. Since those humble beginnings, the Firm has since relocated to its present location at the 27th Floor of Menara KH (formerly known as Menara Promet) and has been renamed to Nik Hussain & Partners.
Today, NHP comprises of 2 Consultants, 8 Partners who are supported by 5 Associates and another 50 members of staff; all of which have vast experience and expertise in their areas of specialisation. NHP has 3 main areas of practice; namely Corporate & Banking, Conveyancing and Litigation. Besides these areas of practice, NHP also has a thriving Trademark and Intellectual Property practice.
NHP’s core focus, expertise and strength are in the areas of capital market transactions, commercial banking and conveyancing. In recent years, NHP has carved a niche practice in Islamic Banking and Islamic Finance whereby the Firm has engaged the services of Associate Professor Dr Engku Rabiah Adawiah Engku Ali (currently lecturing in the Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyah of Laws at the International Islamic University, Malaysia) as NHP’s Syariah Advisor for all Islamic Banking and Financing activities.
In ensuring that NHP remains equipped to provide dependable, timely and trusted legal services in today’s ever-shrinking and borderless world, the Firm also closely works with several associated legal firms, both in Malaysia and in foreign jurisdictions, to provide cross-border legal solutions.
Our Clients include some of Malaysia’s leading banking and financial institutions, public and private corporations, developers, businesses and private individuals. Many of these Clients have remained and have continued to engage the services of the Firm since 1973; a testament to NHP’s pledge to provide quality, trusted and dependable legal and practical solutions in all aspects of NHP’s practice.
