Nile Green Packaging Ltd is a South Sudanese startup committed to addressing the plastic pollution crisis through sustainable, biodegradable, and recyclable alternatives. Our mission is to replace harmful single-use plastics with eco-friendly solutions, beginning with our flagship product: locally produced paper bags. South Sudan faces a critical waste management challenge—especially in urban centers like Juba, where plastic bottles and bags account for nearly 90% of waste. The Nile River, a vital water source, is increasingly polluted with plastic debris, threatening aquatic life, contaminating farmland, and posing serious health risks. At Nile Green Packaging, we are driven by a commitment to: Local Production: Creating eco-friendly products within South Sudan to reduce dependence on imported plastics and stimulate the local economy. Community Empowerment: Providing green jobs and skills development, especially for youth and women. Environmental Stewardship: Aligning our growth with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially responsible consumption and production. While we are starting with packaging, our long-term vision is to expand into a wide range of eco-friendly products that support a circular economy and promote sustainability across South Sudan and the African continent.
