About NIMAR

NIMAR is the Dutch national expertise centre for Moroccan Studies. NIMAR organises lectures, facilitates research and actively adds to the knowledge of Moroccan languages, cultures and society in The Netherlands. The institute provides a safe location for the study of the language, culture, religion and society of Morocco, the Arabic world and West Africa. It also acts as a location for training aimed at professionals in the Arabic world and Africa. Starting 2016, NIMAR is a part of the Faculty of Humanities of Leiden University.
