Nimble is revolutionizing our relationship with stuff. Starting in the East San Francisco Bay Area, Nimble makes it easy to repair household goods: we figure out how to repair your item, who can repair it, and we pick up and drop off so repair fits into your life. Further, our model is revitalizing the third-party repair economy, enabling people to grow their repair skills and earn more income through repair. Nimble’s theory of change is that easy repair will lead people to factor repairability into purchasing decisions and thereby incentivize companies to make goods more repairable in the first place. As an agile startup founded in the world of design strategy, Nimble fosters a culture of experimentation & testing assumptions to see what works, understanding our human complexities, working together as a team for a good outcome, and playing the long game so our impact can meet the scale of the need: reversing disposable culture and moving human societies towards right relationship with Earth. Now is an exciting time for repair, as California’s Right to Repair law just went into effect July 1, 2024 (part of a growing number of states/countries adopting similar legislation)!
