Nirma Volunteaching Movement is a student-led initiative under AIREP, taken by the students of Nirma University, to educate and empower children from the vulnerable areas of rural village Miroli, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
We visit them every Saturday, to guide them through academic subjects as well as co-curricular activities like sports, dance, art, etc. The ‘Volun-teachers’ share a special bond with the children. Along with the role of a mentor and tutor, we become their friend and confidant, and the children lovingly call us ‘Didi’ and ‘Bhaiya’.

“To kindle the light of joyful and passionate learning in the eyes of our pupil. To see this light, spread in ripples, all over the world. ”
Mission:
“To teach village children, and to instill in them a spirit of wonder and inquisitiveness that drives them towards self-education. We do this by visiting every Saturday, as their tutor, mentor, and friend. We guide each child individually, heeding to their unique strengths and limitations.”
NVM also hosts a variety of events and social awareness campaigns in the village from time to time. Campaigns conducted in the past include ‘Swachhta Abhiyan’, ‘say NO to cigarettes and tobacco’, ‘Importance of education’, ‘Awareness and safety on Road’, etc.
This is an effort towards sensitizing our villages towards crucial social and global concerns and channeling their development towards social equity and environmental sustainability.
