The Barbados National Insurance and Social Security Service covers all working people, whether self-employed or employed under a contract of service in Barbados. Individuals under 16 or over standard pensionable age are eligible only for Employment Injury. Insured persons are covered up to the first $1,219* per week for weekly employees and $5,280* per month for monthly employees. All employed persons, regardless of age, are covered for Employment Injury, and this contribution payment rests solely with the employer.
