National Institute of Technology, Srinagar is one of the premier Educational Institutes in the Northern Regions of the country. It was established in 1960 and has been one of the eighteen Regional Engineering Colleges sponsored by the Govt. of India during the 2nd Plan. The Institute acquired the status of National Institute of Technology with deemed to be University status during August 2003 and attained full autonomy in its Academics. Here at NIT Srinagar, the Training & Placement Department has an unflinching devotion in sprucing up consummate professionalism in the students, besides honing their technical dexterity, thanks to the team of our dedicated professors. It strives for developing the students into adept and cognizant individuals, seeded to be the technical vanguards of the nation and the world at large, sailing through the turpitude of stark economic recession. We offer B. Tech programmes in eight Engineering disciplines (Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Mechanical and Metallurgical Engineering; B. Tech in Computer Science and Information Technology have been introduced from the academic year 2007-08). Further, four M. Tech programmes namely, Water Resources Engineering, Structural Engineering (Civil), Mechanical System Design (Mechanical) and Communication & IT (Electronics & Communication) are also being offered. The aim here is to be in touch with the alumni of NIT SRINAGAR and other recruitment officials to get the much-needed help for the smooth functioning of placement cell of NIT SRINAGAR.
