NITRO Histórias Visuais

A NITRO Histórias Visuais é uma das maiores produtoras de conteúdo de Minas Gerais, presente no mercado nacional desde 2003. Um coletivo de “contadores de histórias”, é formada por antropólogos visuais. Busca romper limites e inovar no uso de técnicas, mídias, plataformas e valores para narrar visualmente histórias cotidianas e reais da sociedade. Busca contribuir para a construção da identidade e da imagem do Brasil contemporâneo, contando histórias como meio de preservar a memória. Atualmente é formada pelos fotógrafos Marcus Desimoni, Bruno Magalhães, Leo Drumond, João Marcos Rosa e o jornalista Gustavo Nolasco. We are four photographers and a writer based in Belo Horizonte, Brazil’s third most populous urban agglomeration. With the objective to contribute to the identity building and image of Brazil, we work on personal projects and do editorial assignments and we are experienced producers of multimedia narratives, stop-motions, time-lapses and videos. At NITRO we enjoy exploring different techniques (photography, video, mixtures) and mediums (magazines, exhibitions, books, online, etc.) depending on the content and its potential but always taking The Photograph as our starting point. We specialize in News and Politics, Culture and Human Rights, Sports, Nature and the Environment and Portraiture, always with our eyes geared towards the transformations in Brazil. Our image database consists of over a million images of which 40.000 images are accessible in the online archive: http://archive.nitroimage.net We also run NITRO Editorial, our own publishing company that has published seven books, including Beira de Estrada, Harpia and Os Chicos. The latter was awarded with the Prêmio Jabuti, the most prestigious Brazilian literature prize. An office team of 12 supports our work and at all times do we have access to a pool of extra professionals, including translators.
