About New Jersey Law Revision Commission

The New Jersey Law Revision Commission (NJLRC) is the independent Legislative Commission responsible for promoting and encouraging the clarification and simplification of New Jersey’s statutes. It examines the statutes, and the judicial decisions construing them, and makes recommendations to the Legislature to maintain the statutes in a revised, consolidated, and simplified form. The Commission’s work involves comprehensive research and extensive outreach. (N.J.S. 1:12A-8). The Commission welcomes and considers suggestions and recommendations from the American Law Institute, the Uniform Law Commission, “other learned bodies,” and from “judges, public officials, bar associations, members of the bar,” and “the public generally.” (N.J.S. 1:12A-8).
