About Nordiska Kompaniet
Nordiska Kompaniet is one of Sweden’s strongest brands and one of Europe’s leading marketplaces. The department store in Stockholm is over 100 years old but the ambition remains the same: to be a world class commercial and cultural theater.
Hufvudstaden AB owns AB Nordiska Kompaniet, which in turn owns the NK real estate in Stockholm and Gothenburg, the brand NK, NK e-commerce and NK Retail AB. The stores at NK are operated by freestanding companies under department store like forms. All departments have separate leasing agreements with AB Nordiska Kompaniet. In total approx. 100 companies run 110 NK departments in Stockholm and 50 departments in Gothenburg.
Nordiska Kompaniet bought Departments & Stores Europe AB, founded in 2005, in February of 2021. In the acquisition Departments & Stores became NK Retail AB.
