Over the last five years, we've assessed over one million pieces of writing using Comparative Judgement. Comparative Judgement is the gold standard of human assessment, allowing teachers to make accurate, rapid and valid judgements of students' writing.
More recently, we've started experimenting with Large Language Models like ChatGPT, to see if they are capable of providing assessments student writing. Our initial research shows they have some flaws but they may be able to provide written feedback.
