Founded in 2017, Noctua creates luxury, offbeat scarves that are inspired by adventure and tell true and interesting stories.
"Athene Noctua," the owl commonly associated with the Greek goddess Athena, was a Hellenistic symbol of wisdom and knowledge. Athena herself was considered the patron goddess of many subjects including wisdom, inspiration, art and weaving.
Each of Noctua's scarves embraces this connection between knowledge and art, as each scarf tells a true story. These stories are meticulously researched and feature some combination of art, science, history and mythology.
These designs are hand drawn in the USA, then made in Italy with luxurious 100% silk twill, a rich palette of colors, and rolled hems. Each scarf is then beautifully packaged, and comes with information about the story of the scarf, care tips, and several ways to wear the scarf.
