NOKfinders (pronounced “knock” finders) is a forensic genealogy company that provides research services to locate next of kin (NOK) when someone dies. We specifically work on missing person cases (where the person may be deceased and family DNA reference samples need to be matched to unidentified remains) and unclaimed cases (where the decedent’s family cannot be identified by authorities). Organized as an L3C (low-profit LLC) in 2022, NOKfinders’ mission is two-fold: help agencies find next of kin when a person dies while enhancing the field of professional forensic genealogy. Agencies need help; aspiring forensic genealogists need cases– NOKfinders brings them together.
