Kastelo

The Association NOMEIODONADA implemented a Continuous and Palliative Care Unit in the Norte of Portugal, Kastelo, for children from 0 to 18 age. It is a pioneering project in Portugal, which encompasses all children with chronic pathology. Portuguese children with this type of needs have not been included in the projects of the National Health Service, being ignored and forgotten being hospitalized for long periods in the Pediatric Services, verifying the commitment of the family bond and child development itself, sometimes, the family restructuring due to the social conjuncture.
