Nortexcel acts as an interface institution between the scientific community, business fabric, industry, entrepreneurship, start-up communities and public sector in order to build synergies and bridges of cooperation and contribute to the articulation and coordination of research activities efforts and, thus, increase the competitiveness and business potential of regional actors. The association promotes applied research, innovation and knowledge transfer activities in the health domain, complying with regional and European societal challenges, in order to boost competitiveness and sustainable economic development of the north region of Portugal. Thus, Nortexcel aims to improve the position of the northern region in the global innovation chain and contribute to the sustainability of the regional system for research and innovation, strengthening its performance and increasing its effectiveness. Nortexcel has a global vision and a long-term perspective to generate advances in knowledge that can be translated into innovations that will make a substantial difference in the quality of life of people.
