Northampton Advanced Motorists

We are one of over 200 local IAM RoadSmart groups - our aim is to reduce road traffic collisions by helping you enhance your skills, become a safer driver and enjoy your driving. We have been in Northamptonshire since 1978. Our great team of passionate volunteers have supported almost 1,000 drivers to pass their IAM RoadSmart Advanced Driving Test and many others, to improve and enjoy their driving. Our membership is mainly from Northamptonshire e.g. Brackley, Daventry, Irthlingborough, Northampton, Rushden, Towcester, Wellingborough and all surrounding villages. There are two other local Groups, the Corby and District Group cover Corby and Kettering, and Northamptonshire Advanced Motorcyclists cover the whole of Northamptonshire. We run driving events within Northamptonshire including our very popular Motorway Day (in conjunction with Northamptonshire Police). Our social events for our members include Track Days at Millbrook Proving Ground, skid pan sessions, and ten pin bowling. We also run motoring based events including motoring quizzes and manoeuvering tests for other organisations such as the 2011 Northamptonshire WI Driver of the Year competition. We are a friendly fun loving group, with over 180 members. We take great pride in helping drivers achieve their potential. As a not-for-profit organisation, we are committed to improving road safety by enhancing driving standards.
