The Northeast Tech Bridge activity, coordinated at NUWC Division Newport by the Northeast Tech Bridge director Julie Kallfelz, connects industry, small business, academic institutions, research organizations, as well as state and local government in the region to accelerate the development and transition of solutions to the fleet.
Our location allows us to take advantage of the region's highly integrated maritime and defense economy that encompasses manufacturing and research expertise in technological areas including: defense-related ship and submarine building and servicing; autonomous and robotic undersea vehicles; marine materials and material behavior; and ocean, coastal and bio-inspired sciences and engineering.
The Northeast Tech Bridge has Partnership Intermediary Agreements (PIA) with our non-profit partners 401 Tech Bridge, which is based at the University of Rhode Island Research Foundation (URIRF), and with SENEDIA.
