Northern Lithium Ltd

Northern Lithium is a privately owned UK mineral extraction and development company, established in 2017, focused on delivering a secure domestic supply of lithium initially in the North East of England. The UK Government has defined Lithium as a critical mineral of strategic importance to the country, essential for the production of lithium-ion batteries and electric vehicles. Having formalised agreements with the owners of certain mineral rights within the Northern Pennine Orefield, including across large areas of Weardale, Co. Durham, Northern Lithium is responsibly developing known lithium in brine mineral reserves deep within the underlying granite, using innovative and sustainable exploration and extraction methods. Northern Lithium has already secured significant financial backing for its initial project’s exploration and development programme from private investors and also through the award of feasibility grant funding from UK research and Innovation’s Automotive Transformation Fund.
