Northroad Photonics Corporation specializes in near-infrared (NIR) and mid-infrared (MIR) optical filtering technology, targeted towards both general use and gas spectroscopy sensing applications. Our high performance filters offer specifications on par with fixed filters, while being tunable over several microns in the MIR. In addition, Northroad is also developing what will be the world's most sensitive air-coupled ultrasonic microphone. By leveraging recent research advances, the microphone will offer broadband, omnidirectional performance up to several MHz in air. Northroad is a spin-off from the research lab of Professor Ray DeCorby at the University of Alberta.
