Nottingham Nightline

Nottingham Nightline is a student-run listening and information service available from 7pm to 8am every night of term. We provide support through phone calls, instant messaging, and emails, aiming to lend a compassionate ear without judgment or advice. Volunteers undergo extensive training and have dedicated over 600 hours on call for helping others in the previous academic year. We handle a wide range of topics and guarantee anonymity and confidentiality. No topic is off-limits, and We practice non-directive listening. We offer phone lines, instant messaging, and a 24/7 email service, maintaining the same level of confidentiality and anonymity across all platforms. Volunteers are trained in active listening and provide support while allowing callers to lead the conversation. Nottingham Nightline operates based on principles of confidentiality, anonymity, non-judgment, non-directiveness, and non-advisory. We respect callers' privacy and opinions, ensuring a non-judgmental and non-directive space for self-expression.
