NOVA Ocean is a knowledge centre dedicated to the multidisciplinary study of the Ocean. It was created within the Centre for Research & Development on Law and Society (CEDIS), NOVA School of Law (NSL), Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (UNL). The centre aims to be part of the internationalization efforts of the School, by establishing itself as an innovative centre dedicated to multidisciplinary scientific research in the area of the Ocean and its governance, with the objective of consolidating and extending research and scientific knowledge in this important domain. Accordingly, it intends to contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in particular SDG 14 - life below water, through the support and development of multidisciplinary scientific research and education in the area of the Ocean.
